the {good} stuff

Life has gone from achy-blanky-bundle-cuddles {say that 5 times fast} and counters filled with supplements... to laughs and imaginative play once again.

What did we do the first day both girls were better?

an endless run of science experiments {playing in the background} + cardboard boxes + markers + popsicle sticks + construction paper + tape + iphone apps {for cutting shapes} = puppet shows.

We know how to have a good time. ;)

Gracie had me draw a seagull for one of her 'puppets'.  I should have taken a picture.  You'd have been impressed.  She named it Ryan Seagull.  {American Idol anyone?}

Thankfully, their immune systems are growing stronger each year, and their flu symptoms are not as scary as they once were.  We actually thought we were in the clear this year.  So. close.

Oh well.   Life happens.

I wanted to snap my fingers and have our schoolwork running at full speed again.  Extended, unexpected breaks can bring a lil' teacher anxiety.  But "creative play" is unappreciated these days.  I mean... How many masterpieces can one transform out of cardboard boxes?  Educational, right?

A phone-call from Granny helps aid in the healing process, too.  :)

A conversation I wanted to remember from this week...

Gracie:  "Mom, did God know me back then?"

Me:  "He knew you before you were born."

Gracie:  "Wow.  He was my first best friend."

*sigh*

That's the good stuff.

So thankful for a God we can call our best. friend.

  12. Yay! Glad they are feeling better. That sickness really stuck around your house for a bit. So far so good here, but we're not free and clear yet, so many things are going around and with the rain and sunshine bringing flowers, well here come allergies for the boy!

    And I think creative play is totally underrated and should be a part of every child's childhood, even during school. :)
