"a beautiful day"

that's what this sweet 11 year old announced monday would be...
a beautiful day.
she dressed herself in anticipation of the day before mom exited her pillow.

it was filled with running errands.
and her long awaited music guild.

Photobucket

"nervous-excited."
10 short memorized pieces.
just her...
and the judge.
a poised young lady.
complements and manners.

Photobucket

her imitation of the statue of liberty.
she wants to see it one day.
and go to washington, d.c.
as much as she wants to go to disney world.
proud parents.

dad made it home in time to come along with us.
then we headed to the airport to drop him off.
it twas a little house on the prairie evening for the little ladies and myself.

dad should be back this evening.
crossing fingers.
we are taking the week off of school.
except for reading and math.

the house needs to recover from the garage sale.
we're calling this week "operation clean-up."
with a splash of re-decorating.

and there's lots of dance hoopla to get ready for.
and family coming in town.
yea!

now...
if only i could stay off of ebay.
garage sale money went toward an early christmas gift for nator.
samantha.  a retired american girl doll.
with 3 outfits and all her books.
we're not above 'slightly used' items.

{i'm hoping to find an awesome deal on kirsten.
another one of nator's faves.
maybe felicity and elizabeth, too.
for gracie.
i have high hopes, yes?}

shhhhhhhhh...

the day she sees it will be another...
beautiful. day.

*giddy*

i'm off to spray-paint anything that's sitting still.
these kiddos better get a move-on! ;)

  1. Disney World?!?! Did someone say Disney World??? :) Yes, that's what I got out of that. :) We're going next year. Maybe you should come down too. Wouldn't that be fun!!!

I never thought to look for slightly used AG dolls!!! I'll be on the look out now. Sassy is addicted to the Felicity books. And we missed Samantha by a few months. :( Thanks for the idea!!

  2. What a great way to use your yard sale money! My girl is starting to want those "big girl dolls" as she is calling them. I think it's a great way to get her to read too, so maybe I'll have to have a looksy on ebay too. Don't worry, I'll try not to be competition. :)

Have fun with your spray painting!

  3. Great pictures of A-Nator! Congrats on the music guild. Kei had Samantha and Kirsten and she loves her American Girl Dolls! Great find on ebay. Hope you can find all the things you are looking for.

I should have known you were one of 'those' 'shoppingforChristmasinMay' kinda girls. :p

  4. that made me *giggle*. i'm typically not an early planner when it comes to christmas. i just know that buying a 'retired' doll close to christmas will be next to impossible. unless i sale the house in exchange, you know? ;)

  5. When I was a kid it was Madame Alexander dolls - I have quite a collection. But you couldn't change their clothes. I would have SO been an AG girl :)

  6. I'm not sure what a music guild is, but 10 memorized pieces? That's pretty incredible!

  8. Woo-hoo little piano girl! Tell her to keep going! I put myself through college giving piano lessons!
I'm trying to live like you this week...strong and okay without a husband around. Boo...it stinks!
American Girl Dolls are the gift that you know costs too much but they are SO worth it! Kit already arrived here but Ruthie will be making an appearance soon!

  10. Love the pictures of Nator -- so pretty! Really, I feel like every time I'm able to pop in over here, they look so much older!

Fabulous idea to snap up those dolls early. Guess I better start collecting some for Quinn now, huh? :)
