"Hey, girls, go pack a bag."
"Where are we going?"
"The beach!"
{insert a lot of happy lil' girlie squeals}
Haven't I mentioned my love for the beach, during the fall, before? ;)
Sigh.
And my girls' inability to pack just one bag? 572 stuffed animals are a must. And 7 outfit changes for just one night and day.
If only I'd packed tea for brewing to enjoy the view from our room.
Parts of this area still show signs of Hurricane Ike. I dislike hurricanes. A lot.
Hubs always comments on how much he likes these beach front homes, so we took the time to drive in the lil' neighborhood. Now I want a weekend home here, too.
Specifically, this one. I love this circular porch. Can't you just picture curling up with a good book, or rich conversation with friends? sigh...
One can dream.
Putt-putt was had. We're classy, yes?
It was hot. There may have been sweat. And slight sunburns. Welcome to fall... in Texas.
Yes, I'm jealous of all my northern bloggy friends' 'cold' weather. ;)
We had a small amount of park fun, too, but the heat abbreviated our play time.
The beach was much more tempting. The water was cool, at first touch. The girls asked if they could get their feet wet.
Famous last words, right? We all know what happens next. Soaked clothes. At least they packed enough clothes for a week, right?
The important thing is that memories were made.
Shells were collected.
Pretend surfing on short-lived waves.
Hugs were given.
Feet were buried in the sand.
Hearts were touched.
Sand followed us in the car.
But it was worth it.
When Daddy is scheduled to go out of town, we savor each moment...
After the beach, we...
Well, that's a post for another day.
That's enough pictures for one post, yes? ;)

I am super jealous now. But if you want colder weather, come on up!!!
ReplyDeleteWell dear, if you are jealous of the northerners cold weather, I wouldn't be a true bloggy friend if I didn't offer to swap with you.
ReplyDeleteThis morning upstate NY (my yard, to be precise) offered a heavy white frost on everything along with a brisk 27 degrees as I stumble-tripped along with the two dogs. Not only was I freezing, but even the dogs didn't want to be outside.....I think they would prefer a nice Texas fall at the beach, too.
:)
Have a lovely week!
So envious of your warm temperatures and adventurous excursion to the beach. Precious memories indeed!
ReplyDeleteLet me know when you're receiving guests at the beach house. I'd love to join you for tea on the deck. lol
Thanks for sharing. Blessings, SusanD
But just look at that gorgeous blue sky!!
ReplyDeleteWe had frost this morning. It just feels too early but it is November so I guess its not too early. In my head its still more like September. I do love the first snow fall but by March that snow falling gets old.
Oh, yes! I could take one of those beach houses, too. I wouldn't even be particularly picky about the color.
ReplyDeleteSo jealous y'all can just pick up and go to the beach...one thing I miss about SC!
i'm jealous because though i too have the heat, I DON'T HAVE THE BEACH!
ReplyDelete{love the pose with your hubby--mine kills me for putty my hand on his tummy...glad i am not the only one}

Here am I, Lord, send me...to the beach! Cold air makes me hurt like I'm getting old or something! We'll gladly do a little swap-a-roo with you!
ReplyDeleteI will totally go in on that house with you!! :)
ReplyDeleteSince I am one of your Northern friends, I will tell you that we had snow today...sticking to things! Would totally come beach it with you instead.
So glad you had so much fun!
