an inquiring friend asks

I've been off the grid a bit this week.  School was put on pause.  Probably a good thing.  Mama has been feeling burn-out, while watching the house slowing creep into the beginning stages of some horrible hoarders episode.  We spent the first part of the week cleaning... as in closets, mini-blinds, moving furniture, etc.  And now I'm paying for it.  Sneezy and tired.  Insomnia doesn't help... nor the fact that I'm allergic to dust.  Or housework in general.  ;)

My bloggy friend, Linda (and now friend I've met face to face), posed these questions in a tag...

1. What's your favorite time of day and why?
I would have to say first thing in the morning... The house is quiet, and I take time to collect my thoughts and plan of action for the day.  Hot tea.  Check messages.  Bella purrs and 'makes biscuits' on my fluffy house robe until she tires and rests her head.  She needs her daily cuddles, too.  Silly cat.  She jumps off when my arm begins twitching too much from typing.

The sleepy-eyed girls walk down the stairs, and cuddle for a moment before inquiring about breakfast.  I love it.  Morning breath and all.

2. What has made you laugh lately?
It's the child-like things our girls still do from time to time.  Their comments.  Expressions.  The 'you had to be there' moments.  Oh, how I wish I could bottle those up.

3. What was your favorite toy as a kid?
I honestly don't remember having toys like our girls do.  I do, however, remember a certain Cabbage Patch doll my mom had made for me when they were all the craze... back in the day.  ;)  I handed it down to Gracie (our baby-doll girlie), who promptly wrote all over her face... as she did with every other doll she owned.  We laugh about it.

She actually handed it back to me this week.  She took the plunge in donating all of her baby dolls (except mine ;).  Oh, my mommy heart.  My baby is growing up.  Tissue?

4. What do you remember about your High School prom?
Contrary to my mom's desires, I stayed home.  Funny, huh?  I wasn't a dancer, my friends graduated before I did, and well... I didn't have 'that special someone' just yet.

5. What would I find in your refrigerator right now?
A drawer of organic apples, a drawer of various veggies, 3 organic eggs, rice milk, leftover gumbo and rice, SoBe Lifewater, grapes, spaghetti sauce (probably should be thrown out), hummus.... and various bottles of salad dressing, ketchup, almond butter, etc...  Time to go shopping!

I know.  Life of the party here.  See #4.

6. Which do you like better hands or feet?
Ummm... Well, I'd prefer to touch someone's hands before their feet.  Does that answer the question?  This answer probably has some deep spiritual association.  Probably not.  I'll go with not.

7. What is the craziest thing you've ever done?
You mean other than pushing for 3 hours to get my firstborn?  It's hard for me to top that one.  Wowzers.

Singing You Are My Sunshine to my soon-to-be hubs over a restaurant intercom.  A friend joined me in the duet.  Oh... and I dedicated it to him, too.  Yeah, soon after, talent scouts called my home non-stop. ;)

Snuba.  You know... a combo of snorkeling and scuba.

I'm grasping, I know.

How about... Riding 4-wheelers in Costa Maya (before they became too commercialized for tourists) on dirt roads over 'speed bumps'... only to find out later, it was their power lines.   It was fun though... and now that I think about it, since I didn't know at the time, it probably doesn't qualify as an answer, huh?

Is it sad that's all I can think of for now?  I suddenly feel the need to go on another cruise, or try zip-lining, or something...

************************************

I think I'm supposed to make up my own questions, but I think Linda did such a great job.  ;)  Feel free to answer her questions and let me know whatcha come up with.  I'm sure your #7 will make me want to go dye my hair pink or something.  I kid.

Hubs favorite color is blue. ;)

Cough.  Sniffle.  Sniffle.

I'm off to start breakfast... or take a nap.

  2. Morning is my favorite as well. You've reminded me I need to clean my blinds but ew. I'm home waiting on a repairman today so it would technically be the perfect time to do it but ew. You're not supposed to do housework on Fridays are you?

    Have a nice weekend!

  4. I love it when kitties make biscuits!
I have NEVER been a morning person. Kudos to you for finding solice in the morning. :)
I went to the prom with my husband. How's that for an "Aww" moment?
I love hands, especially older hands. I just think you see so much in hands. Feet...not so much!
And, oh yes the cabbage patch kid. You have truly dated us both! I actually remember getting a Lite Bright when I was 4 or 5 and being so excited. There was a picture of my reaction and my hair was flying up from jumping, so I must have been excited!!
    Have a super day!!!
