Random 12, #3

1. Please share one middle school memory. It can be good, bad, ugly, funny. Pictures or words, I don't care, just share.
I went to a private school for a bit during my middle school years.  One year, we were required to memorize a number of scripture verses each week.  Myself, and one other girl always said our verses early.  Little did my teacher know, I only did this to get it over with!  Speaking in front of the entire classroom was something I dreaded each week.

Our teacher asked the two of us to take turns reciting a number of scriptures during our Christmas program.  We agreed. People pleaser?  Nah... In exchange, we were exempt from reciting our weekly verses for several weeks.  I thought it was a good thing at the time...

The big night came. The auditorium was packed and I was introduced to... Mr. Stage-fright!  Completely. froze. Mind. blank.

Thankfully, a Bible was set in front of us.  I read the entire passage, so it probably appeared as though I had not prepared.

If only I had known...

2. What's your favorite Beatles song?
Um... I was barely forming eyelids then {haha}, but I will have to say that the one that I've heard the most is probably, "Let It Be"... simply because my hubs has sung the tune quite often, but with different lyrics.  Let's just say that something happens when you drink 6 cups of ice tea.

3. If I asked you to describe your most comfortable outfit, what would it be?
Without question, {other than jammies} my gym outfit!

4. Would you rather host a party or be a guest?
It depends... I used to host a big open house every Christmas {among other things}.  That was so much fun!  Lately, I find myself helping as a guest.  That has its perks, too. ;)

5. Do you think we will move completely from traditional books to digital ones, and if we do, are you OK with that?
I hope not.  I love the feel {and smell} of a new book in my hand.  Dog eared pages. Writing in the margins.  Underlining my favorite text.

6. Do you learn best by reading, listening or experiencing?
Perfect example... Would you be able to configure this mess behind your T.V. just by hearing the instructions?  If so, I bow... really.  I think hubs could tell me a million times, but I wouldn't get it unless I did it myself {which I have not done}.

Notice the paint job on the wall.  I was not about to take this apart to paint an area of the wall most people will never see!  {Except for the tens of people who may read my blog, of course.}

7. If you are (or when you were) single, what is the kiss of death for you concerning the opposite sex? (That is, what is one trait or behavior or habit or anything at all that immediately turns you off from considering that person a potential match for you?)
If we're only allowed to pick one, Maturity... or should I say, the lack thereof.

8. Snacks. Salty or sweet?
Yes. ;)  The combo would be perfect, but if I have to chose... sweet!  Can you say... chocolate?

9. Look around you in a four foot radius. What object is around you that you didn't realize was there or forgot was there? How long has it been there?
Ant poison... unopened.  {We were having a terrible problem with ants.  I even posted about it here.  I was on the verge of losin' it... especially when we came home from an out of town trip at midnight to find hundreds in our bed.  They went to vacuum heaven.  Within the last few weeks, they have packed their bags and left the building.  Thank God!}  It's been sitting there for 2-3 weeks.

10. What is your favorite Tom Cruise movie?

My first favorite was, "Top Gun"... he was my teenage crush. ;)

11. You buy a bottle of shampoo and discover that you don't like what it does to your hair at all. What do you do with that full bottle?
Hmmm... that would depend on how bad of a reaction we're talkin' here.  If it's a mild case, I would probably use it anyway.  Wild case, try to exchange it... my shampoo costs too much.

12. Your favorite Fall comfort food? (Last week it was beverage.)
We love us some rice and gumbo!
