This is the Great Adventure

This week, DK is in Vegas. I would like to go... one day.
I mean, don't you think it would be romantic to have Elvis
renew our wedding vows? ;)
With DK's many travels, I've been able to accompany him on one.
New York!
Of course, this was March of 2008.
Mama's overdue a great adventure, no?

So when our photo challenge for today was
"out and about",
this is what was on my mind...

See the plane flying over us?!
I'm glad they knew who had the right-of-way!

Ok, I confess... DK took this picture.
I just liked the way the subway blurred in the background.
These things pick up speed!
It wasn't my favorite mode of transportation,
but it got us from point A to point B very quickly.
It's amazing how much you can cram into just a few short days.
Believe me when I say that I have 100's of pix from this trip.
Here are just a few highlights...

Serendipity3 & Frrrozen Hot Chocolate
We decided to forgo the $1,000 sundae.

The table by the fireplace is where the movie was filmed.

After attending the Live with Regis & Kelly show,
we walked around Central Park and Tavern on the Green...
They were getting ready for something fancy.
Who told them we were coming to town?

This is a water fountain right outside the Rockefeller Center.

If you have girls, you can't go to New York without seeing
the American Girl store. Muy Posh, no?

The view from the Empire State building @ night.
It's really not difficult to see where Time Square is...

Yep, DK and I went all the way to the top.
After talking with the employees, we learning that most of
Sleepless in Seattle was not actually filmed here
but in a studio.
I like the way the lights were reflecting on the clouds that night.

DK & I had dinner at Chez Josephine...
then went to a show.

We ended the trip by visiting some great friends in PA.
They did a fantastic job remodeling this old home.
We'll not talk about how a huge tree knocked out power lines
and we were forced to live as the nearby Amish community
in the freezing cold...
Taking showers at their church.
No, we'll not talk about that.
Ha!
We'll focus on the great conversation & snow tubing.
Truth is, we loved every minute of this trip!
What a great adventure!

  3. Sounds like it was a fun trip, well except for the power being knocked out, but we won't talk about that ;)

  5. I am so jealous. I've always wanted to go to NYC. I would, of course, have to go to AG store also. Maybe some day.

BTW we are extreme edition home editioning our kitchen. I need a new one. Look at my post from last week and you'll see why. Not enough butt room. :)

Also, you are due for a new trip.

  10. Wow! I've always been afraid of NYC, but if I can get photos like that, then I'm game.

I have always wanted to go to Serendipity after seeing the movie and the frozen hot chocolate looks amazing!

I also love the night shots and the blurry subway...wonderful!

  12. Squee!

Your pictures have me even *more* excited. I've got to try and get a subway shot like that. Too cool! I think we're going to be using the subway a lot. It's more economical than taking a taxi everywhere; however, I told hubby that I would require a taxi for our show on Broadway and our night at the Philharmonic. :D

This restaurant you ate at ~ Chez Josephine . . . should I add that to my list?
