I'm becoming a Fan

I just finished the first season of Gilmore Girls and now I get it. I finally get why so many gals I know love this series. I really enjoyed the (dense-with-wit) dialogue. I can't wait to get the second season in the mail!

Just a few of the many Gilmore-isms from the first season...
  • "Don't panic. I'll get the ark. You get the animals."
  • "She's 90% water, 10% caffeine."
  • "This is a real crossroads situation. It's like to perm or not-to perm."
  • "That's very Richard Simmons of you."
  • "While some have called it the most meaningful experience of your life, to me it was something more akin to doing the splits on a crate of dynamite."
  • "This is not a drive-thru. She is not fried chicken."
  • "Five minutes in a snowball fight and we could knock that stick right out of your butt."
  • "I got kissed... and I shoplifted."
  • "I'm afraid once your heart is out, it all comes out in moron."
  • "I'm planning on despising everyone that says, 'Hey, how's it going?'"
  • "You're 16. You have skin like a baby's 'butt', there's nothing to primp."
  • "You're young and your head's all weird and you don't have any perspective because of that young weird headed thing so just listen to me before you get mad."
  • “Oh, is there a ‘you’re crazy’ team? Because I think they’d make you captain.”
  • “People are particularly stupid today. I can’t talk to any more of them.”
  • “You’d think if you had three Thighmasters, you’d wear some slacks once in a while.”
  • “Crazy people. Whole town should be medicated and put in a rec room with ping pong tables and hand puppets.”
If only I could really eat that much pizza, cookies, candy, etc... and look their size. ;) Loved the 1,000 daisies... sweet romance.

  1. The problem that I had with the show is that I dont rthink anyone really speaks that way. I dont care how fancy your prep school was, people still speak in slang.

I could be wrong, but still that is why I hated the show!

Thanks for following my blog. I'm gonna check your out right now. But so far, I have no complaints. lol

  5. I LOVE this show. I only wish I were witty and quick enough to come up with dialogue like this. I suppose it only works for this kind of show, but how cool would it be if we all talked like this?? :)
