Fun day that nearly resulted in an ER trip

Do you ever just get plain ol' tired of feeling like you're the bearer of reality or bad news... at least through the eyes of your kids anyway. I find myself saying 'no' to things before I've probably given it a fair thought. I'm constantly reminding my girls to brush their teeth, comb their hair, clear their mess, clean their rooms (I tell them to anyway), finish their schoolwork, etc, etc. Don't get me wrong though. It's mixed with tons of hugs, kisses and I love yous!

I knew the girls were excited about an upcoming sleepover at a friend's house and a road trip to Granny's. So, needless to say, I've been feeling out of the 'fun-loop'. So, today I woke to tell the girls there would be no school today. We went to one of our favorite restaurants for lunch and I surprised the girls with a trip to a great inflatable play room. Things were going great!

After about an hour, the fun ended with a 'bang'. Literally. Somehow, after going down the small inflatable slide, A-Nator felt a painful 'pop' inside her chest... and the pain was lingering. I couldn't (and still can't) for the life of me figure out how she got hurt landing in so much cushion. There were lots of tears. *H-Mama, stay calm.*

I assumed we would be going to the ER, but I wanted to call DK and my friend (who happens to be a great nurse) first. She recommended keeping an eye on her and gave me some reassuring information. *Mama can take a deep breath now.*
So, we decide to wipe our tears (best we can) and head on over to rent movies (next thing on our check list) and go straight home for some much needed rest. She's smiling here, but don't ask her to move much. Bless her heart. I really hope she will be better in the morning. If not, it's off to get an x-ray. We've always joked about going to the ER as a homeschooling field trip, but we didn't really want to!
What a movie night we had too! Madagascar 2, Penelope, Nim's Island & Space Buddies... Then a game of Mario Kart with Gracie. Whew...

When we got home, Gracie asked for one of Daddy's t-shirts to sleep in. I told her to go look in Daddy's dresser. I notice it's really quiet upstairs. Then she comes downstairs sporting Daddy's newly designed t-shirt that reads, "I love Daddy XOXOXO Love Gracie" ~ How could I fuss her for that?

And this? Well, the recording is horrible, but you really don't need to see all the details. It's embarrassing enough. I made this count for my 30x5 for the day. I did break a sweat, so that counts. Right? If you disagree, talk to me after you've run around a room of inflatables with 2 kids. ;)

  2. Thanks, Jenn. ;) She seems to be doing better this morning, but we are playing it safe and keeping her on bed rest. Hugging me does not cause her pain anymore, but don't ask her to sneeze or move too much. Maybe it's a muscle??

That TOTALLY counts for your 30x5 for the day. That looks like a fantastic workout!
