Project 365 ~ 2011 ~ Wk 1

Happy New Year, my friends!!

How was your Christmas?

Hello?

Is this thing on?

{insert mic feedback}

Ouch!  My ears.

Ok... Seriously.  I have to admit that this ol' blog became quite the chore when fall began.  Time sped up, I'm convinced.  Many weeks, if it had not been for Project 365, I may have hung my hat completely.  Sure, I would have continued to stalk read your blogs in the ol' reader, but you would miss me too much... and I wouldn't do that to you.

Totally kidding.

But blogging can be challenging, right?  With all the uploading, importing, exporting, editing, saving, again with the uploading, blah, blah, blah... of pix.  Because really... what's a post without a pic?!  Even if it is simply from the cell phone.  ha.

I will try to do better.  And reading your blogs??  I'm there.  Don't you find that using the reader makes one lazy at commenting?  Or is that just me?  *hangs head in shame*

This past week, I purposely didn't schedule much.  With no dance rehearsals, I canceled piano lessons and the girls and I took it a bit slower.  I would love a repeat.  Especially the cool, dark, rainy day in which we didn't have to be anywhere and stayed in our pj's all. day. long.  *sigh*

When we returned home from Louisiana {more on that quick trip to come... procrastination.  it's my new year's resolution. ha.}, the girls were excited to give Jasmine her present.  A huge candy-cane shaped rawhide bone.  Are you impressed?  She was.  Just look at that face.  She likes them better when Mama stuffs peanut butter in them.

spoiled much?

Christmas started going in the trash... or in the attic.  ;)

We met a sweet friend for lunch at Panera.  All my girls. ;)

DK had to be here again.  That means more trips to the airport.  I'm sure the car can get there on it's own at this point.  A bit foggy, but can you recognize where this is?  Yep... He was just there, I know.  Crazy.

A little window shopping was had.  Where was this angel when I needed her?!  I think I need one for a good manicure day.  Geesh.

When hubs returned, I took the opportunity to walk thru a local craft mall.  It's been a few years since I've paid this place a visit.  Come to find out, the weekend manager is one of my new homeschool friends.  Small world!  And she says the owners are a homeschooling, Christian family, too.  Neat, yes?

Oh... Granny, I found you the perfect wind-chime!! :D

We had a couple family meals at Chili's.  I'm now in love with their avocado burger {replacing the meat with the black bean patty, of course}.  Yummmm.

As tradition would have it, we rung in the new year with our great friends.  Always great to catch up with them!

  6. I need that angel! I looked so cute this morning until I wore a hat into work. It was below 20, what's a girl to do? I guess have a cold head & look cute or a warm one & look bleh. Heh.

  9. I have a confession: I've yet to use a Reader and don't even know how to set one up! I just do things the ol' fashioned way -- Open up my bookmarks folder and click away ;)

I love your Project 365 photos and am excited for another year of them! My favorite from this installment is of the girls reading in Chili's; reminds me of when I was young and toting a book along everywhere I went!

  13. well, i for one would have missed you my sweet friend. a reader makes me a very, very bad commenter. like the worst. and i always feel terrible about it. but like you time seemed to speed up for us around fall. i'm hoping for one slow, lazy winter.

yay! a d90....i love mine, took me a while to get used to it, anyway i haven't read the manual yet, so um, do me a favor when you read yours send me some notes HA!

  14. So glad to see your smiling face (and the girls too!) That picture of Jasmine is incredible. You can see every detail of her and the color...WOW! Is that your new camera stuff? (Like my technical talk?)
I would totally second your motion for a slower pace. I keep trusting God that this is just a season and it will soon pass!!
Have a super week my friend and give those girls some extra hugs from me!!

  16. Happy New Year to your family, too!

It does get a bit crunched in the fall time-wise, doesn't it? With school work to be done, lessons, fun, pets, family, and then the steam roller of the holidays pushing through....well it's over for another year! :)

    Have a wonderful week!

  17. I dropped off the planet once August hit; just so busy this fall. I've pulled back on a couple of things and am already feeling the respite.

I loved the pic of the gingerbread house. I'm still in the process of putting Christmas away, but we have company coming tomorrow night, so that should be motivation to get it DONE.
    Happy New year!

  19. Blogging shouldn't feel like a chore, should it? Procrastinating is a major issue for me too. You and your girls are beautiful.

    Hugs & love,
    Mimi
