Project 365 - Week 36

As I type, I am sitting at Granny's house, in Louisiana.  DK and I arrived yesterday... We were trying to recall the last time we made this trip without a child or a pet in the car.  We couldn't.  We talked the entire time, a lot about vacations we'd like to take.  If you fail to plan, you plan to fail.  Right?  It's my new motto, where vacations are concerned. ;)

We are here to pick up our girls, who have been spoiled rotten this week, as they should be, I suppose.  :)  To see what I've been up to this week, click here.  It's mostly a lot of cleaning and organizing, while in my robe.  Then, my nights were fun filled dates with DK.  Yes, we were long overdue, so we took advantage of it.

But I think mentioning horse urine may have scared people away.  Don't be scared.  That's not the giveaway. ;)  There's still time to enter!

Here's what our last date looked like...

A stroll through the beach.  Getting our feet wet.  Finding seashells to add to Gracie's collection, and starting one for Nator.  Watching pelicans nose-dive, mid-air, into the water.  Families flying kites.

We didn't consider Labor Day weekend would bring such a crowd, but we found a stretch of beach that was less populated and housed less seaweed washed ashore.  After our sand-filled stroll, we headed out to dinner...

The seawall was filled, bumper to bumper.  People were having a picnic, swimming, trying to surf, jogging, and bicycling.  We passed a few areas that serve as a reminder to never take what you have for granted.  This hotel was damaged during Hurricane Ike in 2008, and hasn't operated since.

Thankfully, Salt Grass made a full recovery.  We also learned that purchasing a VIP card at our last visit was worth. every. penny.  We were able to bypass the 45 minute wait and were seated right away.  Price. less.

It was a great week of dates, but we missed our girls. 

Now that we have them, life will resume as normal.  As soon as we get back home.

Normal.  What is that anyway?

School schedule, dance lessons, piano lessons, etc, etc...
Fall, here we come!
